Protecting the environment is becoming more significant each day and many people have decided to take a stance, transforming their lifestyles to become eco-friendly. Green weddings are becoming a popular trend, it gives the bride-to-be the chance to help protect the environment and it could save you some cash along the way! If you’re that environmental friendly bride-to-be—these tips on how to plan an eco-friendly outdoor wedding are just for you!
1. The first thing you should do is start searching for that eco-friendly outdoor venue to have your wedding ceremony. Try a location that shows off the natural beauty of the environment. You could check out a nice park, with beautiful trees or even a gorgeous garden-any spacious outdoor greenery venue would definitely set the tone.
2. When buying the rings, make sure the jeweler uses recycled gold or silver and fair-labored gem stones. It’s okay to ask the jeweler the origin of the stone so you can be sure you are not investing in a “blood diamond”.
3. Another great idea, re-use a wedding dress! You could try out your mother’s wedding dress or even your grandmother’s wedding dress, wearing vintage is the new thing! Before you decide not to wear your mother or grandmother’s dress—think about the alternatives. Maybe you can take the dress to a seamstress, maybe they can put a spin on the dress for you or you may find a vintage wedding dress boutique that buy and sell old gowns. Someone’s vintage wedding dress may turn out to be your treasure!
4. While selecting your save-the-date cards, invitations, designing your programs and your table place card, it’s a must that you use recycled paper.
5. Before you go out and order your flowers, check your local organic florist for your wedding flowers to make your bouquet and centerpieces. Also, you could purchase a few huge potted plants for the outdoor wedding ceremony and after the nuptials the plants could be given away to your guests.
6. Lastly, choose an organic menu! Ask your caterer if they can provide an organic menu and make sure it includes a lot of veggies!
I hope these environmental-friendly tips help you plan your lovely dream “green” wedding! Make sure when you send your invitations out, let your guest know that they will be coming to an eco-friendly wedding ceremony—don’t want to catch them off guard!

Hi Victoria –
Paper has been made out of trees for only 125 years — so 100% post consumer recycled paper is preferable OR treefree papers. Cotton rag, hemp, bagasse, kenaf, mulberry are just some of the fabulous fibers (beautiful) paper can be made from.
