Spring and summer are two of the biggest wedding seasons and many brides-to-be ultimately opt to go with an outdoor wedding ceremony. Some people try to use a natural habitat as a beautiful venue, which could make for some really great wedding pictures. However, when many of your wedding guests receive a wedding invitation in the mail dated for the middle of July; the first thing cross their minds is how hot it will be. Don’t be surprised by this, because while your guests are extremely happy and supportive of you they are thinking about how uncomfortable it could get for them out in the heat. Nevertheless, it’s your show and it shall go on but I have some tips that will help you cater to your guests so that they won’t be miserable at your wedding ceremony.
This Is a “Hot” Wedding but Where Is The Shade
To make sure your guests have the proper protection against heat, provide some sort of shade for your wedding guests. You could arrange to rent lawn umbrellas or have a cooling tent for guests who feel that it may be too hot for them. Don’t have your guests facing toward the sun. You certainly don’t want anyone to suffer from heat exhaustion and pass out. Along with a good amount of shade, you also may want to provide some personal misters; this is an awesome way to keep your guests cool.
Bring On The Water and Fresh Lemonade!
Providing your guests with water is great way to keep them hydrated but passing out cups of lemonade could be deemed as a sweet treat. You could either set up a water and lemonade stand for your guests to enjoy before the wedding. Or you could have someone, maybe an aunt to pass a tray around with cups of water or lemonade for your guests while they are waiting on the wedding. Whichever you prefer, make sure there is some type of order and that your guests are being properly tended too!
Give a Nice Hanky or a Hand Fan!
You could give out a handkerchief to all of your wedding guests and that could also act as your sole wedding favor or it could be just one of your wedding favors. No matter what you choose to do, your guests will be thankful that you provided this well-needed trinket. A hand fan would be a great tool for your guests to use to stay cool. Some people may even have their wedding programs printed on the hand fans, so it will definitely be of good use.
Please Have the Sunscreen and a Plan B
Have mini sunscreen packets on standby because if the sun is beaming, your guest may need to put a little bit on, so they won’t bake in the sun. Make sure the UV is high enough for the right amount of sun protection. While you providing sunscreen to protect your guest from the sun, what are you going to have to protect your ceremony? Hopefully, you are thinking of a back up plan for your ceremony. You may want to rent a tent just in case the temperature is just too high and totally unbearable. You should also rent large fans or a great air conditioner unit that will keep the tent cool for you and your guests!
