Looking for fun outdoor wedding themes for your big day? If you are, I am sure I have one of the most uncommon places soon-to-be brides look for inspiration: Cake Books. Yes, cakes can give a lot of inspiration regarding your outdoor ceremony. Plus if you see a cake that you adore, you have killed two birds with one stone. Fabulously decorated cakes are great resources to help you pick out your colors and could also help you decide if you want an over the top wedding or a simple, classic wedding. I am sure you are wondering, how can a cake give a future bride wedding inspiration? Well you may come across a three-tier simplistic cake with a couple of flowers on the top. The color of the flowers could give you great ideas on a color scheme. Or you may decide that you like the idea of a classic cake and you may decide that you want a more intimate wedding. You may also come across a cake that may have a ribbon

lining the bottom of each tier and you may decide to get a sash to go around your dress. You may decide to do away with a cake and go with cupcakes. While we are on the subject of cakes, if you happen to see a cake that you love you must keep in mind when and where you are having your ceremony. For example if you are having your wedding in the middle of July in an area where the temperatures are known to creep pass 90 degrees. You may want to re-evaluate what type of icing you want to have or make sure there is an area to keep your cake cool, until it’s time for serving. In the meantime, you could have a fake cake on display for your guest to drool over.

It’s finally spring time, which means it’s time for spring themed weddings. My favorite spring time wedding theme is the “enchanting butterfly theme”. I know, it may sound a bit like Cinderella but trust me, this theme is absolutely beautiful. Here are some great things to focus on while you are planning your “enchanting butterfly” themed wedding.

How Do You Begin Planning Your “Enchanting Butterfly Theme”?

You should start focusing on the perfect outdoor venue. You could choose from your local parks, zoos, aquariums or historic sites. You want to make sure that the scenery is magical and you are able to use nature’s gifts for decorations. For example, if you choose a garden venue—make sure the garden lawn is well manicured and the flowers are alive and the colors are popping. Using natural elements could also save you on your décor cost.

Let’s Talk Cake

Make sure your cake is decorated in line with your theme. Remember less is more. Have the cake decorator to add a couple of butterflies on the cake, depending how many tiers you have. This will add that special touch to your wonderful ceremony.

Great Escape

One way to make your “enchanted butterfly” theme wedding come to life is to have a horse and carriage as your means of transportation to and from the wedding ceremony. This will definitely bring that fairy tale aspect to life. Or you can rent an old, classic white car—which would have many people in awe as well as send out this fairy tale effect. In the wedding industry many tren ds are constan t ly evolving and there are always many ways to impress your wedding guest. Everything from immaculate venues, to the top notch cakes to the gorgeous wedding dress. Yes those things are sure to make your weddin g event a big hit but today we are talking about the smaller touches that are guaranteed to wow your wedding guest.

A Jaw Dropping Exit

After your wedding ceremony you will be on cloud 9, so I say keep riding the wave and go out with a bang! Create your own mini-parade and make sure your hostess pass out sparklers, rose petals, confetti and/or bird seeds to make your day extra spectacular. You could also get a couple of trumpet players to end your exit on a high note.

Switch It Up!

While this may be costly to some I do have two different ideas, so hear me out. Make a grand entrance to your wedding reception in a totally different dress from your wedding. The dress doesn’t have to be expensive but it should be fun and flirty. It’s your wedding receptions so have a little fun. For those of you brides who are like me, very economical, you could switch up your hair style, your jewelry, your shoes or add a sash. Whatever you do make sure you add some pizazz–that alone will make your guest say: Wow!

Leave Your Signature

No, not that signature! It’s your wedding day, so you and your groom should allow your guest to embrace your personality by serving up a signature drink that represents you. You could go with mojitos because you guys may be huge fans of Spanish cuisine. Or you could do a white Russian because it is always your go to drink. Many future brides go with certain drinks because they are colorful and accent their décor. You want to make sure that you have the bartender who will be making your drinks allow you to have an opportunity to having a signature drink tasting. If you don’t drink alcohol, you can always do a non-alcoholic beverage. It’s your day and what you say goes. Ultimately, you want to make sure this drink is very well made and that it represents the newlyweds.

Boy, I’m Hungry!

If you are having an evening wedding reception, many of your guests will have danced their food and then night away and it will be a great surprise if you have semi-late night snacks for them. You could provide mini burgers, mini pizza round and my favorite chips and salsa. Trust me, this will be sure to put a smile on your wedding guests face.

Make the Night Memorable!

What better way to make the night memorable than to have a fireworks show after your wedding reception? Or you could also look into renting a confetti cannon, this will be sure to end one of the most memorable nights of your life with a bang.
